Automatic task color-coding

Understand what the automatic green, orange, and red color coding of tasks means.

Updated over a week ago

Why are tasks automatically color-coded?

FlowSavvy color-codes tasks based on how close they are scheduled to their due date. With automatic color-coding, you can quickly get a feel for how packed your week is and never be caught off guard when a task is scheduled to miss its deadline.

What do the different colors mean?

🟩 Green

If a task is green, that means it's scheduled to be completed before the buffer period in settings, which means it's scheduled with plenty of time before its due date.

If you're syncing your tasks to Google, iCloud, or Outlook, green tasks will be "free" so that time can still be booked by other people, since those tasks are flexible.

🟧 Orange

If a task is orange, that means it's scheduled to be completed during the buffer period in settings, which means the task is scheduled close to its due date and there isn't much room to push this task off more before it turns red.

If you're syncing your tasks to Google, iCloud, or Outlook, orange tasks will be "busy" so other people know not to schedule things with you during that time.

🟥 Red

If a task is red, that means the task couldn't be scheduled before its due date. If you see red on your calendar, you're likely overcommitted.

If you're syncing your tasks to Google, iCloud, or Outlook, red tasks will be "busy" so other people know not to schedule things with you during that time.

🧾Why are some tasks' due dates gray in the To-do list view?

(Only applicable to Auto-scheduled tasks)

If an auto-scheduled task's due date is gray in the To-do list view, that means the task isn't scheduled. This is usually because the task's due date is after your auto-scheduling cutoff, so it is not being auto-scheduled yet. You can also click on the task and then click on the gray pill at the top to get an explanation of why the task isn't scheduled.
