What you can do with the Google Tasks integration
When you connect Google Tasks to FlowSavvy, FlowSavvy schedules time for your tasks and reschedules them if plans change or you get behind.
You choose which lists sync. Those lists stay in sync between Google Tasks and FlowSavvy. Adding, editing, deleting, and completing tasks syncs both ways, along with the title, notes, due date, and which list a task is in.
Google Tasks does not tell FlowSavvy about recurrence or deadline, and it does not include a time on the due date. Details on how FlowSavvy handles that are below.
How to connect Google Tasks to FlowSavvy
Click your profile in the top left corner of the menu in FlowSavvy.
Click settings.
Go to the "Integrations" tab.
Click on Google Tasks, then click "Connect Google Tasks" and sign in with Google.
Important: Select which lists you want to sync to FlowSavvy. None are selected by default.
Disconnecting Google Tasks removes its lists and tasks from FlowSavvy and from any calendars those tasks were synced to.
Things to know
Which tasks get synced to FlowSavvy
Top-level tasks in the lists you select are synced.
Subtasks are not synced. If you indent a task in Google Tasks so it becomes a subtask, FlowSavvy removes it on the next sync. Move it back to the top level in Google Tasks and it will sync again.
Tasks you completed more than 30 days ago are not imported.
Due date, due time, and deadline
Google Tasks only gives FlowSavvy a date. That date is the day the task should be done. It is not a time, and it is not Google Tasks' deadline.
FlowSavvy uses that date as the due date and sets it to the end of the day, then auto-schedules the task. A task with no date in Google Tasks still syncs, and FlowSavvy schedules it with no due date.
A time you set on the due date in FlowSavvy stays in FlowSavvy. Google Tasks still only shows the date. If the date later changes in either app, the new date syncs, and the due time in FlowSavvy becomes the end of that new day.
You can also switch a task to a fixed time in FlowSavvy. That choice stays in FlowSavvy. Google Tasks cannot store a time, so it will not move or replace the time FlowSavvy scheduled.
Google Tasks' deadline is separate from the date, and Google does not send it. Deadlines are not synced in either direction.
Repeating tasks
Google Tasks does not tell FlowSavvy whether a task repeats, so synced tasks come in as tasks that do not repeat.
You can set a repeat rule in FlowSavvy. FlowSavvy keeps that rule and schedules the next occurrences. The rule stays in FlowSavvy and is not sent to Google Tasks, which keeps a single task.
Moving tasks between lists
Moving a task between two lists that you sync works in either app.
If you move a task in Google Tasks to a list you are not syncing, FlowSavvy removes it. If you move a task in FlowSavvy to a list that is not a synced Google Tasks list, FlowSavvy removes it from Google Tasks and keeps it in FlowSavvy.
List title and color
The title of a Google Tasks list cannot be edited in FlowSavvy. Rename the list in Google Tasks, and the new title syncs to FlowSavvy.
Google Tasks lists do not have a color. FlowSavvy assigns one when you select the list, and you can change that color in FlowSavvy. You can also choose the list's scheduling hours and which calendar it syncs to.
