How to Integrate Todoist with FlowSavvy

When you connect your Todoist account to FlowSavvy, FlowSavvy will automatically schedule time for your tasks and instantly reschedule if plans change or you get bheind.

You can choose which projects sync to FlowSavvy, and then those projects will be synced between Todoist and FlowSavvy. Any changes you make in either Todoist or FlowSavvy will be synced to the other app, including adding, editing, deleting, and completing tasks.

Subtasks and tasks assigned to other users in Todoist will not sync to FlowSavvy.

Tasks with a time in Todoist show up on the Todoist calendar at that specific time, so they'll be synced to FlowSavvy as fixed-time tasks in order to mirror the Todoist calendar.

Tasks with no time set in Todoist will sync to FlowSavvy as auto-scheduled tasks, using Todoist's "deadline" as the due date in FlowSavvy, or Todoist's "date" if there is no deadline.

If you sync the Todoist Inbox, tasks from Todoist's Inbox will appear in FlowSavvy's Inbox.

Tasks in a Todoist-owned list can be moved into the inbox, and they will be moved into Todoist's Inbox and stay synced.

New tasks created in FlowSavvy's Inbox will not be synced to Todoist. This is because multiple integrations will be able to sync into FlowSavvy's Inbox in the future, so it would not be clear which integration the new task should sync to.

Todoist and FlowSavvy support different sets of recurrence rules, so when you create a repeating task in FlowSavvy, we will set a "best effort" recurrence rule in Todoist. When you complete a task in Todoist, FlowSavvy will correct the next occurrence's date if FlowSavvy is using a recurrence rule that Todoist doesn't support.

When you create a repeating task in Todoist, only the first occurrence will be scheduled in FlowSavvy, and you'll see "Repeats in Todoist" in the recurrence section in FlowSavvy. When you complete the occurrence in either FlowSavvy or Todoist, Todoist will tell FlowSavvy the date of the next occurrence in the next sync, and FlowSavvy will then schedule that next occurrence.

If you edit a non-first occurrence of a repeating task in FlowSavvy, that edited occurrence will not show up in Todoist like it does in the FlowSavvy task list view. Todoist doesn't support edited occurrences, so this decision is to keep your Todoist list clean.

The title and color of Todoist-owned lists cannot be edited in FlowSavvy. Edit them in Todoist, and the updates will sync to FlowSavvy.

The "priority" field on tasks syncs between Todoist and FlowSavvy, with one exception: Because Todoist's default priority is the lowest priority (p4), and FlowSavvy's default is the 2nd lowest (normal priority), Todoist tasks with priority p4 and p3 both map to "normal priority" in FlowSavvy, and "normal priority" in FlowSavvy maps to p4 in Todoist. Once a task is synced, changing between p3 and p4 in Todoist or changing between normal and low priority in FlowSavvy will not overwrite the priority in the other app.

High priority in FlowSavvy always maps to p2 in Todoist, and "Do ASAP" in FlowSavvy always maps to p1 in Todoist.

If you've synced your Todoist account to a calendar service like Google Calendar, we recommend not syncing that calendar into FlowSavvy, since FlowSavvy will already be importing those tasks directly from Todoist. Simply choose the lists you want to sync from Todoist, and your tasks in those lists will show up on your schedule in FlowSavvy.

You can then choose to sync tasks from FlowSavvy to an external calendar like Google Calendar, so both your fixed tasks and auto-scheduled tasks from Todoist show up on your external calendar.
